Look, we're mechanics, not data brokers. When you bring your rig to Gloomrend Fortress, we need some basic info to fix your truck and keep our shop running smoothly. That's about it.
This privacy policy's gonna walk you through what we collect, why we need it, and how we keep it safe. We don't sell your data or do anything shady with it - that's not how we roll. Been in this business long enough to know trust is everything, and we don't mess around with that.
By using our services or this website, you're agreeing to what's laid out here. If something doesn't sit right with you, give us a call at (604) 555-8742 and let's talk about it.
When you book a service or reach out to us, we'll ask for your name, phone number, email, and business address if you're running a fleet. Pretty standard stuff - we can't call you when your truck's ready without a phone number, right?
We keep records on your truck - make, model, VIN, mileage, service history, and any specific issues you've had. This helps us track what's been done and what might need attention down the road. Trust me, you want us remembering that your transmission's got a quirk or two.
When it's time to settle up, we process payment information. We use secure payment processors for credit cards - we don't actually store your full card numbers on our systems. For fleet accounts, we'll keep invoicing details and payment history.
Like most websites, ours collects some technical stuff - your IP address, browser type, pages you visit, how long you hang around. It's mostly so we can see what's working and what needs fixing on the site. We're not tracking you across the internet or anything creepy like that.
Scheduling appointments, ordering parts, completing repairs, and keeping you updated on your vehicle's status. You know, actually fixing your truck.
Processing payments, sending invoices, and maintaining service records for warranty purposes and future maintenance planning.
Sending you reminders when it's time for preventive maintenance or follow-up services. We don't want you breaking down because you forgot an oil change.
Responding to your questions, providing quotes, and keeping you in the loop about your repairs. We might also send occasional updates about our services.
Looking at trends to better stock parts, schedule staff, and improve our processes. If everyone's needing brake work, we'll make sure we've got the parts ready.
Meeting regulatory requirements, handling warranty claims, and maintaining records as required by law. Sometimes we gotta do paperwork too.
We're not in the business of selling your info. Period. But there are a few situations where we need to share some data to keep things running:
When we're ordering parts or checking warranty coverage, we might need to share vehicle info with suppliers or manufacturers. They need VIN numbers and service history for warranty claims - standard industry practice.
We use third-party payment processors for credit card transactions. They're PCI compliant and handle that stuff securely. We don't see or store your full card numbers.
We use some basic business tools - email services, appointment scheduling software, that kind of thing. They might have access to your contact info but they're bound by strict confidentiality agreements.
If we're legally required to share information - like a court order, government request, or regulatory compliance - we'll do what the law requires. We're not trying to get in trouble here.
What we DON'T do: We don't sell your data to marketing companies, we don't share your info with random third parties, and we don't use your data for anything that's not directly related to servicing your vehicle or running our business.
We take security seriously - same way we wouldn't leave your truck unlocked in our bay overnight, we don't leave your data sitting around unprotected.
Under Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA and all that), you've got some rights when it comes to your personal information. Here's what you can do:
You can ask to see what info we've got on you. We'll show you what we're holding - service records, contact details, payment history, the works. Just give us a call or shoot us an email.
If something's wrong - wrong phone number, old address, whatever - let us know and we'll fix it. We want accurate records as much as you do.
Want us to delete your info? We can do that in most cases. But heads up - we gotta keep some records for legal and tax purposes (usually 7 years for financial stuff). Also, if you've got an active service relationship with us, we need to keep your vehicle history to do our job properly.
Don't want maintenance reminders or promotional emails? No problem - just tell us and we'll take you off the list. You'll still get essential communications about active service appointments though.
Want a copy of your service records to take somewhere else? We'll give you your data in a readable format. We're not gonna hold your records hostage.
Email us at service@gloomrendfortress.info or call (604) 555-8742. We'll need to verify it's actually you (can't just hand out customer info to anyone who asks), but we'll get you sorted within 30 days.
If you're not happy with how we handle your request, you can file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. We'd rather work it out with you directly though.
